Aside from that, silybin found in milk thistle also acts as antioxidant to fight free radicals, increasing the activity of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase in cells. This is also important because glutathione is the main antioxidant enzyme of the body which improves the liver detoxification by bonding with toxins and neutralizing its dangerous effects.
